The devoutly Christian actress Patricia Heaton has just scored a new Fox sitcom, and the premise of it looks hilarious!
Patricia Heaton, the former “Everybody Loves Raymond” star who has long been known as one of the only openly conservative Christian stars in Hollywood, has scored a new sitcom on Fox, and the premise of the show has just been revealed.

Heaton’s New Sitcom
Deadline reported that Heaton will be executive producing the untitled multi-camera comedy from Kapital Entertainment, and the project was given a script-to-series commitment by Fox in the fall of 2021.
The veteran comedy writers Carol Leifer and Andy Gordon have been brought on to write the new show, which has a premise that sounds nothing short of hilarious.
Leifer is known for her work on “Seinfeld” and “The Larry Sanders Show,” and she’s currently a co-executive producer on the HBO comedy “Hacks.” Gordon has previously written for shows like “Last Man Standing,” “Mad About You,” “The Big Bang Theory,” and many more.
Sitcom’s Premise
Heaton will be starring on the sitcom portraying the host of an upscale lifestyle show who was convicted of embezzlement and tax evasion, and was subsequently sent to prison for two years. Once she is released, she finds herself both forgotten and broke, so she has to move to Tennessee to live with a sister who she’s been estranged from for years.
If the show is picked up, it will be filmed in Nashville, where Heaton lives part-time. She will executive produce it with David Hunt under their FourBoys Entertainment banner, while Leifer and Gordon will also be executive producers along with Adam Griffin, Aaron Kaplan and Melanie Frankel for Kapital Entertainment.
Heaton has tons of experience in sitcoms, and she continues to be best known for playing the wife of Ray Romano on “Everybody Loves Raymond” from 1996 until 2005. Once that show came to an end, she found more television success on the sitcom “The Middle,” which ran on ABC from 2009 until 2018.
Heaton’s Christian Faith
Unlike many Hollywood stars, Heaton has never let her career in entertainment distract her from her strong Christian faith. She managed to read the Bible in it’s entirety in one year in 2022, and she celebrated this in a video posted to Twitter in December.
“Sunday, December 18, a year ago today, I decided I would finally for the first time in my life read the Bible all the way through,” she said in the video. “And I got this plan from the Gospel Coalition and I finished it today. I can’t believe it.”
“Some days were just revelatory, I saw things I had never seen before,” Heaton explained. “And some days were kind of a slog. You know just going through it and pushing through. Just feeling like I don’t know what any of this is about, mostly Old Testament stuff.”
Heaton’s List
Heaton went on to read out the list she’d kept of all the names that God was referred to in the Bible:
“He’s a Provider, Healer, Banner, Shepherd, Righteousness, Sovereign, The Beginning, The End, He Sees Me, Supreme Mighty One, Most High, Good Shepherd, Physician, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty, Everlasting, Prince of Peace, Lion of Judah, El Shaddai, God Almighty.”
“It’s a great way to start your day,” she concluded of reading the Bible. “I highly recommend it.”
There are so few examples of devoted Christians in Hollywood these days that Heaton’s voice is needed now more than ever. On top of that, she’s one of the most comedically talented actresses working today, so any sitcom that she stars in is sure to be a hilarious watch.
We pray that Heaton’s new show gets picked up, and we can’t wait to watch it when it does!
