Keanu Reeves, 58, secretly proposed to girlfriend Alexandra Grant, 49, after four years of dating. According to an article on Okmagazine.com, Reeves was seen shopping for engagement rings in LA in March 2022.

A source told OK Magazine that Reeves proposed after he came home from a trip to Europe where he was filming several movies. “That’s when he realized he can’t live without her,” the source continued.

Although the couple likes to keep a low profile, it was revealed that Sandra Bullock played a role in the proposal.

“It was a heart-to-heart with Sandra that finally inspired him to put a ring on it,” the source said, “and he’s so happy that he did.”

Per a feature on Usmagazine.com, the couple met at a dinner party in 2009 and struck up a professional friendship.

Grant, who works as a visual artist, collaborated with Reeves on a poetry book in 2011 and a second book in 2015. They founded a publishing company together, X Artists Books, in 2017; the same year they reportedly started their romantic relationship.

They didn’t confirm their relationship until 2019 when they walked the red carpet at the LACMA Art and Film Gala together.

The only other official relationship The Matrix actor was known to have been in was with his late girlfriend, Jennifer Syme. Reeves and Syme dated from 1998 to 2000.

An article on Cheatsheet.com revealed that Syme became pregnant with Reeves’ child. Unfortunately, their daughter, Ava Archer Syme-Reeves, was born stillborn in 1999.

The death of their daughter put a strain on their relationship, which caused them to part ways.

In 2001, Syme tragically died in a car accident after attending a party at Marilyn Manson’s house. She was just 28 years old.

According to a feature on People.com, Reeves opened up about how he was coping with the loss of Syme and his daughter Ava, taken from an interview with Parade magazine.

“Grief changes shape, but it never ends,” Reeves said. “People have a misconception that you can deal with it and say, ‘It’s gone, and I’m better.’ They’re wrong. When the people you love are gone, you’re alone.”
