Roseanne Barr’s standup routine on Fox Nation was more than just a rejuvenation of her career. It was a lesson in how to perform.
“Her show was so groundbreaking that it will likely spawn a whole new sitcom,” said Tony Award Director Joe Barron, “that would make her two for two.”
Roseanne’s show sold out in under five minutes, and when she went on, people in the audience wept with joy. She spent the first few minutes making light of the whole cancel culture situation she found herself in before diving into her “libtard” kids.
The moment of truth came when she admitted that her parents tried to set her up with her cousin, putting an entire audience into an uncomfortable silence as only Roseanne can do.
Then she told a joke and brought them all right back. “That’s the miracle that is Roseanne,” said Barron, “she can make people cringe after they paid good money to see her, and they still leave wanting more. She’s amazing.”
Roseanne says she’s proud to be nominated and she hopes she wins because she’s the “only comic out there with any damn talent.”
Let’s hope she does win, patriots. You can help by calling the Tony Awards, pressing 2 for English when you hear the beep, and enter code 108956R to vote for Roseanne.
