Our thoughts and prayers go out to Miley Cyrus for her tragic loss

Losing a dog is like losing a member of the family, because our furry pals are exactly that, family.

Singer Miley Cyrus shared the devastating news of her dog’s passing.

The Pit Bull mix named Mary Jane was a rescue dog. Miley gave her a new lease on life and Mary Jane sure did know how to express her gratitude; by being the best dog one could ever ask for.

The “Midnight Sky” singer shared that her beloved dog was diagnosed with cancer over a year ago. Sharing an Instagram story, she wrote, “Anyone who knows me, and it doesn’t have to be well, is aware that my dearest buddy in the whole world is a rescued pit bull mix named Mary Jane,” before she talked about the dog’s medical condition. “It wasn’t the first time someone had told me to take my time appreciating her one-of-a-kind character, so the advice didn’t come as a surprise. I had been for the previous decade.”

The singer continued her post saying that it is simple to “take things for granted” and “let minor miracles pass you by without moments of thankfulness,” but that she “never once did I forget the gift I had been given” when Mary Jane was part of her life.

“As she exhaled her last breath, I thanked her over and over again for everything she had done for me and everything she had been to me. It was something more significant than a friend or a member of the family. Something entirely new and different. You can’t define it.

“Our communication was really heavenly. An unmatched affection,” the singer added. “We have never been intentionally damaging to one another by anything we have said or done. We have never had an argument and then gone to bed angry. Our allegiance has never for a moment faltered.”

Mary Jane was always there when Miley’s heart was broken and helped heal it every time.

The singer made sure she did everything in her power to provide a pain-free life for Mary Jane during the last days of her life, as much as it was possible.

“Despite the fact that she is no longer in pain, I am. That is the essence of love,” she further wrote. “Mary Jane’s passing was marked by dignity, grace, calm, and power. She treated everyone with kindness and compassion as her guiding principles throughout life. She could be courageous when she needed to be, but never for an extended period of time.

“She would never allow the door to her soul to be shut. She led such a transparent life. The ability to love and to be loved, “She went on to say more. “Oh, that Mary Jane were more representative of all of us!”

Miley added a bunch of beautiful photos and videos of her and Mary Jane thanking her furry friend for all the beautiful moments they shared together.
