A 12-year-old boy is being deemed a hero after he smashed the windshield of a car to save a toddler who was trapped inside on one of the hottest days of the year in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It all started when he heard the screams coming from a car parked in a department store lot.

The heat index for the day was up to 116 degrees according to Fox 23 so the boy and his mom didn’t take a second thought about breaking into the car to save the child.

He grabbed a metal strap and used it to begin smashing the window to the car, he eventually moved to the windshield where was able to make bigger cracks. He was able to stomp on the windshield some more before he was able to get inside to unlock the car and free the baby.
